You may think that our basic policy is fantastic if you feel that it covers you properly. But what if it doesn’t? Then you may want to think about tailoring your policy to suit your needs.
This will mean that if something unexpected does happen, we can cover you and make sure you’re not left with an unexpected bill.
Here’s a few questions you may like to think about when choosing a tailored policy that’s right for you:
- Did your holiday cost more than £500? If it did, then tailoring your policy to fully cover the cost will mean that you’ll be reimbursed for your cancelled trip – instead of for a fraction of it. With a basic policy, you can tailor your cover from £500 to £3,000 while our comprehensive cover can be tailored from £5,000 to £15,000 subject to further underwriting criteria.
- Are you planning on taking over £250 cash? If your money is lost, stolen or damaged on holiday, our basic cover reimburses you up to £250. What if you planning on carrying more? It’s worth making sure it’s covered.
- If your baggage was lost or stolen, how much would you need to cover the contents? Is £300 in the basic policy enough
- How would you feel about paying the excess if you need to claim? With our basic policies, the excess for each claim type is between £85 – £100. Our comprehensive policies have a reduced excess of £65. If you want to waive it completely, upgrade your comprehensive cover with an excess waiver option.
It’s worth thinking about how you’d feel and what you’d do if something did go wrong.

What information will I need to have to hand to get my quote?
If anybody in your party has pre-existing medical conditions, then we’ll need to ask you detailed medical questions about them.
These questions help us to make sure we can create a policy that works for you.
It’s important that these questions are answered as accurately as possible, as giving the wrong answer could invalidate your policy.
Here’s a quick run down of the type of information you should have to hand before starting your over 85s travel insurance quote:
- Names of all medical conditions you have had in the past five years, or currently have. Even if you think it’s only minor, or doesn’t matter. This includes anything that you don’t take medication for.
- If and when you have ever had any of the following (even if it was longer than 5 years ago)
- Cardiovascular or circulatory condition, for example, a heart condition
- Hypertension (high blood pressure)
- Blood clots
- Raised cholesterol
- The name and doses of any medication you take.

How can I make changes to my policy?
