Why do I need cruise travel insurance?

When you’re planning your cruise, you may be wondering if you even need insurance.

After all, what can go wrong on a cruise ship?

Although getting travel insurance isn’t a legal requirement, most cruise companies will make it a condition of your trip that you have a comprehensive policy. It’s worth checking what your cruise company have asked for, as each will differ.

You’re probably not planning on something going wrong while you’re away, but it does unfortunately happen and that’s where travel insurance with cruise cover can help.

Having a good policy will mean that you’re covered for things like the cost of a medical emergency or being reimbursed for not being able to dock at a scheduled port due to bad weather.

Our Comprehensive policy will give you a great level of cover for any type of holiday – you can trust that it’s comprehensive as it’s been given 5 stars by Defaqto. Adding on our optional Cruise Plus cover will then give you extra benefits.

What does our travel insurance cover?

Our specialist cruise cover is only available as an add-on to our Comprehensive Policy. If you want a less comprehensive policy that won’t cover cruise-related incidents, see our Basic policy.
